Thigh Lift Surgery

About Thigh Lift Surgery

A thigh lift is a surgical procedure designed to tighten and reshape the inner thighs by removing excess skin and fatty tissue, creating a slimmer, firmer, and more defined appearance of the legs.

Loose skin on the inner thighs commonly develops due to aging, reduced skin elasticity, changes in muscle tone, or significant weight loss. When regular exercise and a balanced diet are not enough to improve the appearance of sagging skin, thigh lift surgery can provide an effective solution by removing excess, loose, and wrinkled skin.

Preparation: Welcome to Your Free Consultation

To achieve the best possible results, we will discuss the available surgical techniques and determine the approach that best suits your individual needs and expectations.

Following a thorough examination by one of our experienced plastic surgeons, you will receive detailed instructions regarding preoperative preparation, the surgical procedure, and postoperative recovery.

Our goal is to ensure that you feel fully informed, comfortable, and confident before undergoing thigh lift surgery.

Surgical Technique: How Is a Thigh Lift Performed?

For patients with moderate excess skin and fatty tissue on the inner thighs, a successful result can often be achieved through a crescent-shaped incision along the groin crease.

This horizontal, slightly curved incision allows the surgeon to remove excess tissue and lift the skin of the inner thighs. The resulting scar extends along the groin area toward the buttock crease and can often be concealed beneath underwear or swimwear.

Scar formation varies from patient to patient, and the final appearance and width of the scar depend on individual healing characteristics and the extent of the procedure. In some cases, scars may be approximately 0.5 cm wide, although this cannot be guaranteed.

When more significant amounts of excess skin and fatty tissue are present, a more extensive surgical approach may be required.

In these cases, the incision may extend vertically from the groin down the inner thigh toward the knee, allowing the surgeon to remove larger amounts of excess tissue and achieve improved thigh contours.

The most appropriate technique is selected based on the patient’s anatomy, skin condition, and desired outcome.

Recovery and Precautions

Bruising, swelling, and discomfort are common following thigh lift surgery. These symptoms are generally temporary and can be managed with prescribed medication and appropriate postoperative care.

Patients typically stay overnight at the clinic under professional medical supervision. Once their condition is stable, they can return home and continue their recovery while following the prescribed treatment plan, including pain management and their surgeon’s postoperative instructions.

Light daily activities can usually be resumed approximately 10–14 days after surgery, depending on individual recovery.

However, strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, and other demanding physical activities should generally be avoided for 4–6 weeks or until approved by your surgeon.

Surgical scars gradually become less noticeable over time, with visible improvement often occurring during the first six months. Scar maturation may continue for a year or longer.

To support proper healing and improve the appearance of scars, our medical team may recommend specialized scar care creams or other appropriate treatments.
